Happy Holidays Folks!

I'm trying to get this place updated to lately... I've been doing mostly non-digital stuff lately including playing with beats and knitting and making chocolates. Fractals too but nothin' sah-weet has been created as of yet.

School's out though, and all I'm doin right now is working all day every day, it's a bitch really. Going home Christmas day until January fifth, and since I haven't seen Californian soil since July, I have some catching up to do!

am leaving for buenos aires in a couple weeks, and i won't be back until november. all this time apart from my poor sweet other half in iowa is not doing wonders for my muse.

Mmmkay, I know I've disappeared. The truth is I haven't had time or inspiration to open Apophysis for several weeks now.
I've been working my ass off with two jobs as it's summer, and I'm going back to school a month from yesterday, when I suppose I'll finally have time to sit around doing fractals and playing with my soon to be new graphics tablet. For now, making money is my priority.
I actually just returned from Aruba, which was a wonderful welcome break after working double shifts 8 days straight. I'm tan now! woot.

Sooo I guess another month'll do it. I'll be back, I promise

1. I can relate to aerphis-- I talk to myself constantly. Often it's in Spanish because I try to think in Spanish as often as possible, especially at work, to keep up my skills. I sing in Spanish and French. I talk to myself plenty in English too though, when I'm alone or with Lee sometimes, making comments etc about things and myself. I keep me company!

2. I have a ridiculously broad range of interests. Take music-- I've gone through periods of nothing but hip hop, back to classic rock, to folk, to bjork, to gothic rock, to black metal, to classical, to 70s punk, to 90s alt rock. And ska too. It's ridiculous how I can enjoy nearly any music if I'm in a certain mood. Another aspect of this is how I dress-- I own a huge amount of black clothes with lace. I own hippie clothing like jeans I tore up and sewed back together and a crazy linen dress and ridiculous amounts of flowers for my hair. I have sexy club clothes. I have preppy chic clothes. I have five pairs of boots in different styles. The same goes with art: I've experimented with everything. My favorites are mixed media and fractals. Another way of expressing the self, I suppose. I don't know how people can dedicate themselves to one style of dress, or music, or anything for that matter. There is so much to experience and to learn in the world, it certainly pays to have an open mind.

3. My boyfriend is a weird thing about myself He brings out my weirdness more than anyone I know. He exposed me to new ways of thinking and I believe has helped me significantly on the lifelong journey to becoming who I really am.

4. I make a LOT of random noises. Many of these are highly influenced by GIR of Invader Zim. My boyfriend and I tend to talk in strange pitches to each other and to overuse the word "sammich" as well When I don't have anything to talk about I make a noise.... probably not a good habit to get into when you work in the people industry

5. I have a passion and a talent for language. I don't think it's exactly weird, but it's a bit peculiar that I knew it was what I wanted to spend my life doing by the time I was 17. I'm not even 19 yet but the passion is still there and I have managed to become (just-about) fluent in Spanish and conversational French. Lee & I are starting Russian classes in the fall. I have an interest in sooo many languages that I think it'll take a lifetime to learn them all!!

6. I live in Southern California and I chose to go to Iowa for college. For any non-americans, Iowa is in the middle of nowhere and it contains mostly farms, whereas socal is full of crazy amusement parks, nice weather, huge cities, and TRAFFIC. The Iowans thought I was crazy going there from California. The reason I chose to move so far away is because I feel that here is where the biggest concentration of American mass media influence is. People are so brainwashed. The general public believes that to be of any value you've gotta be rich, as evidenced by the thousands of SUVs and escalades and huge raised trucks everywhere even though gas is $3.50 a gallon. As evidenced by ridiculous amounts of boutiques and overpriced shops that are nonetheless bought out by girls who think the answer to happiness is being skinny and in-style. It's actually disgusting to watch and I'm ashamed to be a part of it. My plan is to move out of the country as soon as possible in hopes that it's not so bad in other places.
